My Name is Epiphany
I was born in Dar Es Salaam – Tanzania and grew up in Dublin – Ireland before moving to Sydney – Australia
Goodbye Corporate Hello Freedom was founded in 2016 with a view to help individuals in Corporate who were tired of climbing the Corporate ladder transition into entrepreneurship by acquiring skills needed to start their own businesses.
I am a trained Accountant turned a Digital Business Entrepreneur.
I now help other professionals find their mission in life and turn their passions into business.
I love what I do now.
I am so grateful that today I can sit here, looking out on the beautiful Sydney harbour as I type these words with my heart full of appreciation of my new found purpose in life, as it hasnt always been like this.
How It All Started
For about 14 years I worked in Corporate Finance, first in Ireland for about 10 years and then since 2013 in Sydney Australia.
Unfulfilled and overworked in my career in Dublin, I made the decision to leave Ireland in search of a work-life balance.
Little did I know that it would be even harder for me to find that work life balance here in Australia. If anything I worked longer hours – working hard trying to climb the corporate ladder.
At one stage in my career, 3 am finishes at month end under demanding bosses became the norm. I remember being in this constant fear everyday I went to work.
I had a fear of not being able to get the job done, fear of being made redundant on the next restructuring process, fear of not being able to meet the deadlines etc. etc.
In addition, I lived paycheck to paycheck trying to cover living expenses whilst dealing with the office politics and trying to fit in.
My corporate career came with a few perks as I could travel, see the world and meet interesting people but I became very unfullfiled and towards the end I had no passion left in me.
I knew something had to change. I was living on survival and stress so I started meditating religiously trying to figure out how to change the situation. I studied and consumed every piece of information I could find on mindfulness and well-being and started using mindfulness practices in my daily routine.
I read everybook I could get my hands on and got inspired by many teachers around the world, from Dr Joe Dispenza, Dr Wayne Dyer, Gabrielle Berstein, Marianne Williamson to Abraham Hicks. I also started reading bios of many international entreprenuers and followed a lot of Australian entreprenuers.
They say the teacher will come when the student is ready and it was around this time I came across a group of Digital Entreprenuers who later became my mentors.
They taught me Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurship. They also confirmed my suspicion that there are other ways out there. That we are not here to live our lives unfulfilled or dissatisfied.
Shortly afterwards Goodbye Corporate Hello Freedom was born.
The idea behind Goodbye Corporate Hello Freedom is very simple, I want to inspire others to create a business and a lifestyle they truly love.
I truly believe that each one of us was born with a unique capability but unfortunately when we finish school, become members of the society and start working, we get swamped in the 9-5.
We start paying the bills, we forget our passions and who we truly wanted to become in the first place.
Today take a step back and ask yourself is that all there really is? Do you have a passion that you neglected because you felt it wasnt going to cover your expenses?
Or do you feel like its too late to follow your heart and pursue your childhood dream of becoming an astronaut or whatever it might have been ? I am here to tell you that its never too late!
“Don’t die with your music still in you” said Dr Wayne Dyer.
He went on to say that listening exclusively to your left brain will turn you ultimately into wanting to fit in, meanwhile the music inside of you fades almost to a point of being inaudible.
But your heart always hears the music and continues tapping you on your shoulder.
The only thing that will keep you from playing the music you hear and marching to the unique drumbeat in your heart is fear.
Goodbye Corporate Hello Freedom’s biggest goal today is to make people think differently.
My mission is to ask the question, start the conversation, start a movement whatever it may be, and in the end I want to help those who are drowning in the system and want out but have no idea on how to go about it.
