Why do most of us feel the need to compete?

Because we perceive resources, money, opportunity, recognition etc. to be limited.

Fear is always at the heart of a scarcity mindset.

In this environment paranoia, fear and politics thrive.

People become nervous and afraid to make mistakes.

As a result, jealousy and spite flourish

With a scarcity mindset, you believe that everything is limited. Time, Money, Love are all limited.

You are more concerned with what will go wrong than with what could go right.

You make fear-based decisions. You’re afraid of missing out. You’re afraid of not having enough.

People with a Scarcity Mentality have a very difficult time sharing recognition, credit, power or profit.

They have a hard time seeing others succeed.

On the other hand an abundance mindset, is a belief that there’s plenty for everyone.

The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey writes:

The Abundance Mentality, comes out of a deep inner sense of personal worth. It is the paradigm that there is plenty out there and enough to spare for everybody.

It results in the sharing of prestige, recognition, profits and decision-making. It opens possibilities, options, alternatives and creativity.

Don’t compare yourself to other people. Focus on your own goals and accomplishments. If you must compete, compete with yourself. Strive for constant self-improvement.

The corporate world will tell you that you have to compete to get ahead.

I believe in staying on my lane and creating what I want.

Why do we feel the need to take something from someone else to get ahead?

Use your peers for inspiration but don’t compare yourself with others, it a scarcity mindset.

In order to achieve financial freedom, you must adopt an abundance mentality.

If you’re worried about lack, you won’t achieve financial freedom.

To get what you want, give more of what you want.

I encourage you to try this for two weeks,

1.Give your time to others when you feel like you are too busy.

2.Give money to someone less fortunate than you.

3.Help a stranger or a homeless

4.Help a work colleague succeed.

Adopt these habits and you will witness miracles in your own life.

Do you have a scarcity mindset or an abundance mindset?
