Amazon has now opened its doors in Australia drawing nearly 184 million visitors a month to their site worldwide, there is a great opportunity for distributors, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers to increase their sales reach and acquire new customers.
In the last couple of months I have been busy helping Australian distributors and manufactures expand their online sales channels and list their products on Amazon Australia.
In February this year, the company launched Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) More than a thousand sellers are already storing some of their inventory at Amazon’s warehouses.
Challenges in the Australia Marketplace
While new sellers in Australia are faced with a few challenges using Seller Central platform where many features are still missing like PPC Ads / Pay Per Click, Multi-Channeling Option (where you can integrate your Amazon inventory with eBay,Amazon and your website) more and more businesses are now transitioning onto the platform.
The new way forward for sellers selling on multiple platforms
Many businesses believe that Multi- Channeling is the way forward, where you integrate your e-commerce platforms such that, when customers purchase products on your website or from another third-party sales channel, Amazon receive your orders and pick, pack, and ship them directly to your customers.
This means Amazon will now ship directly to your eBay, Shopify, Website and FBA customers allowing businesses to grow multiple direct sales channels without adding supply chain complexity.
Now all your customers can be served from a single warehouse regardless of the site they find you on.Multi- Channeling will be available in Australia over the next coming months.
