If you don’t currently have one, create one and put it into practice.
Believe me, it will be the best decision you ever make with how you use your time!
1.Wake Up Nice and Early!
Depending on your schedule, try to wake up 2/3 hours before starting your day if you can.
Sit in silence to meditate or pray.
Schedule some time to exercise; doesn’t have to be a 10k run, a brisk walk or yoga is sufficient! if you can exercise outside, near the water or greenery all the better!
And don’t forget breakfast!
Remember to plan your day by journaling your intentions for the day.
Journal the outcomes you want to see at the end of the day in the morning! This is important as it keeps you focused, and since this is your life you might as well do it! As you don’t want someone else to dictate how your day is going to look like!
2.Focus, Don’t Multi Task!
Don’t try to do too many things at one time, it reduces your productivity. Instead try to focus on one task at a time. Put a schedule and follow your schedule!
3.Remove All Distractions
Set time to check emails! Don’t check emails every minute! Stay away from face-book, put your cell phone away, stick to your time table/schedule and try to do 3-4 hours slots of pure work without emails, Facebook, texts or phone calls!
4.Use A To Do List/Scheduler!
This is a must! Schedule everything! write down your to do lists, what tasks do you want achieved that day, and don’t move to the next until last one achieved! There’s a lot of Online Calendars, Schedulers and Apps. Check out Google Doc, Sheets or Slides and Ever-notes/One note to get even more organised!
Don’t forget to prioritise, what needs your immediate attention? Do you have any deadlines or urgent queries that requires your attention?
6.Do the Easy Wins First
Get the small tasks out of the way then focus on the bigger tasks. The small wins will keep you motivated to get on the bigger tasks. And you will feel like you are getting things done!
7.Break Your Tasks Into Smaller Chunks.
You could do 1 hour of content writing for example, one hour of setting up your Ads or reviewing you PPC analytics or reviewing your SEO strategy.
8.Outsource, Outsource, Outsource!
Get Virtual Assistants to help you free your time. When I read this idea on Tim Ferris’s 4 Hour Week a few years back I thought Whaaaaaat???
Guru.com and Fiverr.com are great for outsourcing. If you are designing a website, creating a logo, putting together an eBook, email autoresponders etc. Most services will start from just 5 USD.
9.Automate, Automate, Automate!
Automate your email marketing. Set up an auto-responder; sequence of emails that go out automatically after a visitor opts into your email list. For example, instead of manually emailing your list every week use AWeber or Mailchimp
Hoot-suite, Buffer for social media content distribution from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.
You can schedule Buffer to automatically publish your blog posts or updates on a future date.
You could be reading this article while your emails are being distributed for example 🙂
10.Are You a Morning Person or Night Owl?
Decide when you are most productive and use that to your advantage.
